Used Book Donation Guidelines
Donations are only allowed when the library is open, and should be delivered to the staff at first floor Public Service desk for review and acceptance. Please do not leave bags or boxes of used books and materials outside the building or on the sidewalk after hours.
If you have more than a couple of boxes of items, a consultation is required to determine our ability to accept a large donation. Please contact the Public Service desk at 508-539-1435 x3000 or email mpl_mail@clamsnet.org to provide additional details.
We accept the following donations of gently used items for audiences of all ages (adults, teens, children) that were commercially published, and are in good condition for resale.
- Hardcover & Paperback Books
- Audiobooks on CD
- DVDs
- Music on CD
We cannot accept extremely worn, marked up, stained, musty or moldy items of any type. Please also refrain from donating the following:
- Magazine collections
- Encyclopedias
- VHS tapes or Cassette tapes
Any items that are clearly outdated such as computer, business, finance, self-help, medical books or travel guides.
