Join local photographer and journalist Mark Chester on Wednesday, May 20 at 2:00 PM for a discussion of his book, Roadshow Anthropology.
Roadshow Anthropology features a collection of engaging black-and-white photographs that capture America from the driver’s seat. Offering fresh perspectives on the United States’ iconic highways, byways, back roads, and small-town main streets, Mark Chester puts America’s unique spirit of innovation on full display. With humor and pathos, Roadshow Anthropology explores high and low culture and the worlds of commerce, architecture, design, advertising, and fashion. As a social commentator and a connoisseur of Americana, Chester pays homage to a range of influences, including the work of photojournalist Lee Friedlander.
Mark Chester lives on Cape Cod and has been a professional photographer since 1972. His photographs are featured in museums and libraries nation-wide. He is the author of several books as well as a regular column in The Enterprise.
