The Mashpee Public Library is happy to bring back the AARP Tax-Aide Income Tax Preparation Program to assist taxpayers of all ages file their Federal and State returns. You do not have to be over 50 or a member of AARP to take advantage of this service. This year, the Tax-Aide Program will offer both in-person and drop-off services:
In-Person Service: Your tax return will be prepared and filed by a certified volunteer in one visit. These in-person appointments will be held every Thursday from February 5th through April 9th. In-person appointments are available at 12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 12:45, and 1:00.
Drop-Off Service: Tax payers can meet with an AARP volunteer for a brief consultation and to drop off their tax documents. The tax return will be prepared remotely (not at the library at that time). Participants will be provided with a day and time to pick up their completed returns during a second visit to the library. Drop-off appointments are available every Thursday from February 5th through April 9th at 5:00 and 5:15. Drop-off appointments are also available at 12:00, 12:20, 12:40, 1:00, 1:20, and 1:40 on the following Saturdays: February 14, February 28, March 14, March 28, and April 4.
To Make an Appointment: Call the Library at 508-539-1435 ext. 3003, email mpl_mail@clamsnet.org, or stop by the desk on the second floor of the library to sign up for a time slot. After your appointment has been scheduled, please visit the desk on the second floor of the Library to pick up a packet containing instructions for your appointment and an Intake/Interview Quality Review Sheet and Massachusetts Intake Worksheet, both of which must be completed prior to and brought to your appointment.
What You Need to Bring to Your Appointment: In addition to your completed Intake/Interview Quality Review Sheet and Massachusetts Intake Worksheet, please bring to your appointment a Photo ID and Social Security Card (SS Statements or form SS-1099 are acceptable substitutes) for all individuals included on the return. Please also bring a copy of last year’s (2024 returns, filed in 2025) Federal and State Tax returns in addition to all Tax Year 2025 tax documents that must be printed (no phone or PC copies, please). Without these documents, the tax professional will be unable to assist you that day and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to reschedule your appointment. In addition, if you would like your refund to be directly deposited, please bring a voided check.
