Summer Reading Program 2018

The Mashpee Public Library is encouraging students to participate in the 2018 Collaborative Summer Reading Program. This is a nationwide initiative and all 50 states are celebrating this year’s theme, “Libraries Rock!”

Beginning in June, and continuing throughout the summer, children who will be entering Pre-K to grade 2 can register for the Summer Reading Program at the Mashpee Public Library. Children will receive a reading log, a book bag and incentives. Each time they visit the library they will receive a sticker for their reading efforts, and when they have collected five stickers they will receive the final prize – a coupon for a free ice cream cone from Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlour!

The Mashpee Public Library is once again collaborating with the Quashnet Elementary School to help students track the minutes they read this summer. The Quashnet students will be able to select their own reading materials and then log their reading time online at wandooreader.com/mashpeema/quashnet. Their goal is to read 20 minutes per day X 5 days per week X 10 weeks = 1,000 minutes.

Join us at the library this summer for books, movies, music, activities and fun… because “Libraries Rock!”
