AARP Tax Aide Program – Free Tax Help


The Mashpee Public Library is happy to host the AARP Tax-Aide Income Tax Preparation Program.  This organization’s mission is to assist low to moderate income taxpayers of all ages file their Federal and State returns. You do not have to be over 50 or a member of AARP to take advantage of this service.

The Tax-Aide Program will begin at the Library on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Appointments will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 AM, 9:15AM, 9:30AM and 9:45AM ending on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  Please note:  The Library will not be open to the public on Saturdays and no library services will be offered, access will be provided to individuals with tax appointments only.

Making Appointments:  Call the Library at 508-539-1435 or email to schedule your appointment.  After your appointment has been scheduled, please stop by the Library to pick up an Income Tax Questionnaire to complete and bring to your appointment.  

What You Need to Bring to Your Appointment:  In addition to your Income Tax Questionnaire, please bring your social security card, a photo ID and a full copy of your State and Federal Returns from last year (2020 returns, filed in 2021).  Without these documents, the tax professional will be unable to assist you and we can not guarantee that we will be able to reschedule your appointment.  

In addition, if you would like your refund to be directly deposited, please bring a voided check.

About Your Appointment:  You will be contacted by phone prior to your appointment to confirm your attendance.  If you do not confirm, we will be unable to guarantee a tax professional will be available to help you.  Please do not come to the Library if you are not feeling well or having been experiencing and COVID related symptoms.  We will be happy to reschedule your appointment if you are not feeling well.
