Children, teens and adults are invited to join the Mashpee Public Library for an extra special, social distancing reading challenge! Readers of all ages will be encouraged to log the number of minutes that you have read each day. You can select your own reading materials including books, magazines, graphic novels and audio books… any kind of reading counts! You will also have the opportunity to read and write book reviews, and participate in stay-at-home and outdoor activities. Participants will earn a virtual badge for every 200 minutes read and another badge for every activity completed. See how many badges you can collect! Who in your family can collect the most badges?
In order to participate in this challenge, patrons will be using our new Online Reading Tracking Software called Beanstack. Families or individuals can register at https://mashpeepubliclibrary.beanstack.org/ or by using the Beanstack Tracker App, that can be downloaded from either the iTunes Store or the Google Play Store. The app is built specifically for mobile phones.
Readers of all ages can register in seconds as individuals or a family. Just sign up using your email address and create a password. One adult family member can register all the children in the family under one email address. And once your family is registered on Beanstack, depending on age, you’ll be able to participate in our other challenges like “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” and the “Summer Reading Challenge” which begins June 17, 2020.
So go ahead and join our Spring Into Reading Stay-at-Home Reading Challenge! If you have any questions about using Beanstack, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Beanstack, an Online Reading Tracking Software, is made possible with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
