They only visit land to trade for supplies, as it has become a dangerous place.

Myra has an older daughter, Row. She was lost seven years ago when the floods overtook their Nebraska home. In a chance encounter with a stranger, Myra learns that Row may still be alive and living in an encampment near the Arctic circle.  Myra is determined to go after Row, but that becomes complicated as she unites with the crew of a larger ship, looking to restart in a safe place.
