When the violence in Syria began Abu Bakr al Rabeeah was only ten years old .  His story – of car bombs and soccer matches, brutal attacks on schools and playing video games with his friends – shows the struggle between trying to live a normal, everyday life and living in a war zone.

Abu Bakr’s story is deftly told by author Winnie Yeung.  Together they have created a poignant, hopeful book that provides insight into the Syrian violence.
